About Susanne

Susanne Schmidt grew up in Germany, but luckily has never encountered any monsters there, despite being an avid student of local myths and folklore.

She studied in Spain and the US, and earned a B.A. in Journalism from Saint Louis University. In 2020, she published her first novelette, What May Rise From The Ashes. Her novel, Bad Grains, prequel to Whiteout, was named a finalist in the BBNYAs, and a semifinalist in the SFINCS competition.

Susanne is currently working on two dark fantasy series for adults, as well as the next installment of The Order of the Strawberry Circle.

When she isn't writing, she is probably in the garden, growing pumpkins and dandelions and spoiling her guinea pigs.
